I've just done a massive revamp to my cryptocurrency and dividend stock portfolio as of 26th October 2017.
#1: Sent SGD 20,000 to my Lim & Tan brokerage account (sign up for Lim & Tan here and get some bonuses if you hadn't already).
I am getting ready to pump some money back into dividend stocks because I so miss the dividends that are wired directly into my bank account, which is easy and tangible compared to cryptocurrency.
The regular dividends is really helpful plus I prefer to live off dividends than to live off my actual principle income. Though to live off dividends only, I'll need to have at least SGD 1-2 million - that's my 10 year plan.
#2: Sold off most of my cryptocurrency holdings, and just holding on to a few.
I am going heavy on Bitcoin, as you can see, it represents SGD 52,628.78 of total portfolio of SGD 65,623.06, which is 80.19% of my portfolio there. In my opinion, though Bitcoin has soared massively over the past couple of years, there is still more growth opportunities with its plan for SegWit2X, Atomic Swaps and Lightning Networks which are the three milestones planned for Bitcoin for 2018.
On top of other commercial potential such as being accepted by eBay (and hopefully Amazon), as well as hopefully governments starting to accept blockchain and Bitcoin.
Also, I decided for this because
My strategy will be to buy Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) and hold for the next 3-10 years.
How much will it raise to? I have no idea. People say different things, from Bitcoin being able to go to USD 10K to some say USD 1,000,000 - I really don't know. I would be happy for it to go between USD 10,000 to USD 100,000.
