It's difficult imagining you're no longer here.
Sometimes, the busy-ness keeps the thoughts away.
But when everything's quiet.
Thoughts about you come again.
Whenever I see things that remind me of you.
I think of you.
The taps that you installed for us.
The knives that you bought for us.
The whatsapp profile of my last sms to you.
I would like to know, how is it up there, in heaven.
Is it as wonderful as the bible says?
Are you happier?
Are you full?
Is heaven pretty?
Pa, I miss you.
Hear your thoughts on my business and my ideas.
And banter on theological pursuits and debates.
Just a wee bit more
So that you can be with us just a little bit more
Enjoy the fruits of your labor.
As you enjoy your retirement.
Of course, you're now enjoying the best retirement package,
Namely, the Jesus Retirement Package
Where you're with Jesus, Holy Spirit and God
Eating, fellowshipping, and likely working.
Maybe gardening. Maybe fishing. Maybe talking bout taxes.
I don't know.
But in a strange sort of way, I am comforted, at times.
Knowing I can see you again in heaven.
