MailerLite Refused NigelChua.com =(

I want to add email optin option for NigelChua, BeePollenForHealth and take relationship building seriously in 2018...and after researching around, I found that MailerLite was not bad, so after deliberating, I tried to sign up, and I got a rejection email quite quickly.

Ah, I'm a little sad and upset that when I signed up for MailerLite, they sent me a rejection saying that NigelChua.com is marked as high risk.

Their exact words:

Hello. We're sorry to inform you, but our approval algorithms marked your website as high risk. Sadly, we do not approve accounts in such cases.

Hopefully, you will be able to find another suitable email-marketing service. Best regards,

Andrej

I then asked them, and they explained that I need to read their terms of service, and from what I read in their terms and conditions, which basically states that:

  • Affiliate Marketing (Prohibited)- is a type of business where you earn commission by promoting other company’s products. We don’t allow this activity, because there’s no direct relationship between you and your subscribers. You are not allowed to send unrelated offers to your subscribers or pretend to be another brand.

  • Affiliate Links (Allowed) - is a way to recommend product or service to your subscribers in your campaigns. Advertisement for another company (Affiliate Link) can only appear under your branding and be clearly presented as a special offer from another company. Moreover, the offer has to be related to your content and meet subscriber expectations. You are not allowed to send emails with links to content that is prohibited in our Terms of Use. Campaigns with blacklisted links will be stopped automatically and we may be forced to close the account permanently.

I think...they classify those who are involved in Affiliate Marketing (the make money online) as bad thingies, and allow all affiliate marketing in NON-make money online niches, which is why they allow affiliate links.

Earlier I was a little confused as to what they were saying, because anyone who has/uses affiliate links ARE involved in affiliate marketing...I'm not sure why they think that affiliate marketing/those involved in affiliate marketing don't want to build relationship with the readers - because that's what that is important to me.

Oh well, they seem to be doing well and good for them I guess - I will move on to other platforms that are more neutral and welcoming.
