This was first posted on 6th March 2020, porting from WordPress into Solo Build It.
Just a couple of days back, one of my old, old friend, a dear friend, and he was one of those beloved cell group leaders whom I really like and love and respect (and still do), and he sent me a text, saying that his wonderful wife had departed to be with the Lord after a brief fight with cancer.
My heart…just broke for him and her.
They were married for I think 5+ years, and I believe she’s in her 20s, if not early 30s.
She was (is) beautiful, smart, loves God deeply, and cares and loves so much for His creation and people. She definitely touched my heart with her brilliance and love, gosh.
My heart.
Goodbye Mrs G Wiki – you will be missed, and remembered by us and of course, by your beloved hubby G.
My heart, it hurts and stings a lot for G and Wiki. Gosh, this pain, it doesn’t go away, and I cannot imagine how life would (or can) be without my beloved. G, my heart, goes out to you.
It's been about 4 years plus since I wrote this post and reading it...just brings sadness.
I cannot imagine the grief, loss and paint that they went through, and the kind of burdens that placed in the surviving husband.
Though we spoke about it briefly, I remember he discussed with me about it waaaaaaay before he got together with her, when he wasn't sure because of her age and her family (mum) history of cancer and possibly dying early, which really did happen.
I remember what I told him, very specificly then - firstly, on age, when she's older then you can approach her. Secondly...even if they contract a terminal disease that can kill them early, if it's love, it's love.
Some people live and cause so much ripple in the short years they have compared to others who live long with minimal impact to the world.
I remember Wiki as the person who made a significant difference to the world in the short, short time she had on earth, and perhaps, that God loved her so much that He decided to call her home earlier than scheduled.
I'm sorry G for the heartbreak, and I'm sorry Wiki for your physical suffering.
